Adam Sensor Product Information

What is the Adam Sensor?

The Adam Sensor allows you to track your night time erections.

It is a ring-like device that you wear at the base of your penis overnight.

The sensor is small, compact, and non-constrictive so it is safe and comfortable to wear all night.

Although the sensor is small it is designed to comfortably fit men of all sizes.

How does the Adam Sensor work?

The Adam Sensor works in partnership with the Adam App to start, stop and view measurement data.

While you are asleep, the sensor continuously monitors changes in penile tumescence (the engorgement of the penis).

The sensor will continue to work overnight even if you turn your phone off.

When you wake up, you simply end the measurement and remove the sensor.

Upon ending the measurement the Adam Sensor transfers the data to the Adam mobile app installed on your phone.

Our smart algorithms then analyze the data, and our app produces a report with the results of the measurement.

Is it one size fits all and comfortable?

Although the sensor is small and discreet it is designed as a non-constrictive one-size-fits-all device, ensuring comfort and ease of use for all our users.

For the thousands of users so far we have yet to experience a situation where size was a problem.

As the device is non constrictive too it is safe and comfortable enough to wear it all night.

Is the Adam Sensor compatible with both iOS & Android devices?

Yes, the Adam Sensor is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

There are regular updates to the software to continually improve it, so make sure that you have the Adam Health app set to automatic download for updates.

How long does the battery last?

The battery is designed to last a full night before requiring recharging.

This ensures there is no risk of the battery running out in the middle of the night while you are asleep.

Is the Adam Sensor waterproof?

The Adam Sensor is designed to be worn at night in bed and thus is not fully waterproof.

Adam Sensor Usage & Function

How should I wear the Adam Sensor for best comfort and accuracy?

The Adam Sensor’s design is small, non constrictive one-size-fits-all to optimize user comfort.

When putting the Sensor on or off then gently pull it open just far enough to allow you to put it on or take it off.

The optimum placement for comfort and accuracy is at the base of the penis with the sensor facing outwards so you can see it.

If you sleep on your front then some users have found they preferr having the sensor facing to the side which is also ok.

Most users have reported forgetting it was there almost straight away.

For the first time wearing the Sensor we would recommend putting the device on then reading for a bit to allow yourself to get used to it.

If it feels uncomfortable or restrictive, please contact us to discuss and replace your device if there is a fault.

Can I wear clothing to sleep in with it?

Yes is the simple answer.

The Sensor is designed to stay in place without the need of have to have anything holding it in place. As such you can wear it without any clothes on.

If you normally wear clothing to sleep in then as long as the clothing is not so restrictive as to impede erections then it will be unlikely to affect the Sensor.

Pyjama bottoms, boxer shorts, pants etc should all be ok.

What do the numbers mean on the calibration screen?

This screen has a few purposes.

  1. To check the calibration, that everything is working correctly and the Sensor has not been worn before being turned on.
  2. The four numbers correlate to the four strings and reflect the circumference in centimetres.
  3. It is natural to have some fluctuation in these readings between measurements due to natural variations in penis circumference depending on the situation and variables e.g. blood flow.
  4. You can use this screen at any time to test the Sensor is working correctly as the numbers will change as you pull open or close the Sensor.
  5. If the Sensor has been worn before being turned on take the sensor off, turn the Sensor off and on again before wearing the it.
What should I do when I need the toilet?

You can go to the toilet while wearing the Sensor.

The Adam Sensor is designed to fit securely and stay in place even with movement.

If you need the toilet you do not need to do anything on your phone or in the app.

You do not need to take the sensor off.

It should stay in place but we would recommend holding it so it doesn't accidentally fall in the toilet.

This will not affect your measurement.

If you'd prefer to take the sensor off then this can be done but it needs to be done gently to avoid disrupting the calibration of the measurement. Pull the tab enough to allow you to take it off and slowly allow the sensor to retract. When putting it back on then open the Sensor slowly, wide enough to put it back on, without over extending the sensor.

How often should I wear the Adam Sensor?

At first we recommend at least once a week to establish a baseline.

The good news is the frequency is up to you depending on what fits your own situation.

A single night measurement can be affected by various factors so the more you measure the more accurate your understanding of your situation and the impact of your actions. Its why we require a minimum of 3 to unlock your initial AndroAge assessment.

Some users measure every day, some weekly, some do it in bursts of 3 days every month or two. You are in control.

How long does it take to get a reading?

The minimum measurement time to be considered a valid measurement is 4 hours.

Sleep is known to impact night time erections. The longer the sleep time the greater chance of night time erections.

App Access - Can I use social sign in and/or email?

Yes. In the Adam Health App you are able to create an account using email and password or using social sign in via Apple or Google.

If you have already created an account with one mechanism e.g. email and password and then you use the social sign in associated with the same email address then you will access the same account.

The same applies if you have created an account with social sign in and then create an account with email and password, using the same email address that was used for the social sign in.

Charging the Adam Sensor

In the box containing the Adam Sensor, there is a USB-C wire for use to charge the battery.

While charging, the Adam Sensor will display a red light, which will turn off once the battery is fully charged.

We recommend charging the device fully after each use.

Can I wear the Adam Sensor during sexual activity?

You can, however, it is not recommended or designed for use during sexual activity.

It's purpose is to track night time erections while you are asleep.

Results & Data

What data does the Adam Sensor and App collect?

The Adam Sensor collects measurements every second tracking the total tumescence throughout the measurement. This is analyzed and used to determine the results.

The app requires an email address in order to create an account or the use of Google or Apple social sign in. You can choose to sign up anonymously if you wish.

For full details please see our privacy policy.

What results does the Adam Sensor provide?

The Adam Health app translates raw data from the sensor into clear, actionable insights. After each night of use, you will see:

  • Erection Episodes: The number of times an erection occurred during the night.
  • Total Duration: The total amount of time spent in an erection state.
  • Erection Quality: A percentage score based on your personal baseline.
  • Sleep Quality: How well you slept, which helps put your erection data into context.
  • AndroAge™: A single score that benchmarks your night-time erection activity against healthy averages.

The app tracks these individual measurements over time to show you long-term trends in your wellbeing.

Can I share my results with my healthcare provider?

Yes, you can share your data and discuss with your healthcare provider and we would encourage for you to do so.

The Adam Health products and services are not medical devices, and are not intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, cure or diagnose any disease or condition. If you have any concerns about your health, please consult your doctor.

What do the different erection quality scores mean?

Each erection episode has an erection quality score that is determined based on the baseline of the measurement.

How can I improve my results?

In the app if you select the Optimize section from the bottom menu you can see guidance on how to Optimize your results. From simple quick and free things you can do through to advanced optimizations.

These actions are not designed to treat or cure any disease or condition. We recommend discussing any activities with your healthcare professional, particularly if you have any underlying health conditions.

Natural results variation - what to expect

There is always natural variation in night-time erection activity, especially in the first few nights of recording.

This is expected, and it often reflects normal day-to-day differences in factors like sleep patterns, stress, recovery and lifestyle.

The more nights that you measure the more you establish a true benchmark. The system becomes more reflective of your personal patterns as more data accumulates.

Troubleshooting

My AndroAge is a lot higher than expected

There is always natural variation in night-time erection activity, especially in the first few nights of recording.

This is expected, and it often reflects normal day-to-day differences in factors like sleep patterns, stress, recovery and lifestyle. These are detailed in the Optimize section of the app.

If your total AndroAge is higher than expected it could be down to some obvious triggers such as short sleep, high stress and/or alcohol or it could be an indication of an underlying problem.

We would recommend that you discuss the results with a healthcare professional.

How do I know how much battery is left?

If you open the Adam Health App and connect the sensor it will show you the battery life.

We always recommend charging the device fully after or before each use.

How do I know when the Adam Sensor is charging and fully charged?

When the sensor is plugged in and charging a red light will show on the sensor.

When the sensor is fully charged the red light will go out.

You can always check the battery of the sensor by opening the Adam Health app and connecting the sensor. It will show the battery status.

We always recommend charging the sensor fully before or after each use.

Connecting the Adam Sensor to my phone

On the first use of the Sensor with the app you will be shown instructions on how to pair it with the app. After this the sensor should connect automatically as long as it is powered on and within range.

If you still have any issues check this first:

  1. The sensor is charged and powered on
  2. The sensor is close to the phone
  3. Ensure bluetooth settings on your phone are switched on and enabled.

Is this has still not solved the issue then check this:

For Android users:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap the Adam Health app. If you can't find it, tap See all apps and choose the app.
  4. Tap Permissions.
  5. Ensure Bluetooth permissions are allowed for the app.

For iOS users:

  1. Screen record the error.
  2. Email the recording to support@talktoadam.com.
Transferring data from the Adam Sensor to the app

Once a measurement is complete the app will start the transfer of the measurement data and prepare it for analysis.

In order to avoid interruption to the transfer please:

  • Keep your sensor switched on
  • Keep the sensor close the phone
  • Ensure bluetooth on the phone is on
  • Do not navigate away from the transfer screen until the transfer is complete.

If the transfer has been interrupted your data is not lost, it is still on the sensor and you are able to try again.

If this has happened then follow these steps:

  • Turn the sensor off and on again to reset the device (this does not affect the data).
  • Reconnect the sensor to the app
  • Select transfer previous session
  • Select continue
  • Once the transfer has been started then do not navigate away from this screen until the transfer is complete.

If you have tried all of the steps above and you are still unsure then please contact us so we can help you resolve it.

Receiving results

If you haven't received your results within the expected timeframe then things to check are:

  1. Was it a valid measurement over 4 hours?
  2. Has the data been transferred from the Sensor and submitted for analysis? It should show in the app in the Tracking section then measurements tab. If not then connect the sensor and follow the steps to complete the tracking.
  3. Has it been over 24 hours? Some measurements can take longer to analyse depending on the data. E.g. if there is noise in the data from the user moving around a lot and/or night time erection events harder to identify.

We know how important this data is to our users so we prioritise accuracy over speed.

If this doesn't answer your questions then please reach out we'll be happy to help.

The Adam Sensor won't turn on. What should I do?

If the sensor does not turn on, please turn it off, plug it into the charger and ensure the charger is on at the plug socket.

If there is no red light indicating it is charging please contact our support team advising them you have taken these steps.

Reset account password

On the Adam Health App to reset your password then follow the 'Forgot your password' link on the login page of the app.

If this doesn't work before contacting support please check to see if you signed up using a social sign in.

If you have created an account using social sign in and want to change your password you will need to contract the social provider.

In the Adam Health App if you select 'forgot your password' and enter the email address associated with your social sign in account it will not work. This is because it is the social account provider that manages the password for that social account.

I'm worried I might have broken the Sensor. How can I check it still works without needing to do a measurement?

Things happen, we understand and sometimes the Sensor can get dropped.

It is robust but everything has it's limits depending on the situation.

A checklist to check it's working though:

  1. Can you plug it in to charge and does the red light come on when charging and go off when fully charged.
  2. Can you connect the Sensor to the app.
  3. Once connected, select to start tracking. on the 'calibrating' screen then pull open the sensor. The four numbers shown reflect the four strings. If the numbers change as you gently pull open the Sensor then this shows it is working well.
  4. If these 3 items all work then everything looks good. When you do your next full measurement if you have any questions then give us a shout.
